With an overflowing table of books Shannon shared stories about her books and what she had for sale at the Indie Realm. The wonders and realities of living as a creative and small business owner allowed for the episode to go over the time a little, but it was worth it for a good chat.

There is something quite magical about Vanessa's books. It is not just about her. It is a family environment and a chance for creative expressions. Owning your list is important. You may likely have already heard this ad nauseum if you are in the small business world, but it is true. I lost access to Meta before Christmas for almost two weeks and I couldn't do anything about it. I thought that it would be fun to start and daily post within the Bushland Pages community. Something that will help people try mindfulness for at least 5 minutes a day. These activities are short and things that you most likely already do every day. I am just writing it down and suggesting people give it a go. People have been sharing their reflections with me and it has been great to hear some of the creative interpretations of these different activities.

One of the tips that Torah mentioned in the interview was to not get overwhelmed and take it one step at a time with the publication of a book. There is much more to this creative than meets the eye and I am confident we will see more from her in the future.

Who would have thought you could incorporate a beer can into a raffle? Pete made sure that he published his collection of short stories 'Read my shorts' before the Indie Author Book Fair so that he could bring it along to the event. Small items from within the short stories were culminated into a raffle that he utilised on the day as an incentive to sign up for his email. I thought it was brilliant.
