Motivated Mindset March

I thought that it would be fun to start daily posts within the Bushland Pages community. Something that may help people try mindfulness for at least 5 minutes a day. These activities are short and things that you most likely already do every day. I am just writing it down and suggesting people give it a go. People have been sharing their reflections with me and it has been great to hear some of the creative interpretations of these different activities.

I am not a counsellor or psychologist, so I don't make any promises that the activities in the Motivated Mindful March will change your world view or provide life changing moments. It is simply an opportunity to try a wide variety of mindfulness activities and see which ones you resonate with.
I am a qualified Life coach and have been around different levels of woo woo all of my life though. My Mum is a life translator and while I was younger I would frequently attend meditation weekends. I would run mindfulness groups and always work toward providing opportunities to learn and grow. I continued this lifestyle when the children were younger and I partnered with my Mum to run a new age gift shop with practitioner rooms. We ran spiritual events where we had practitioners come from all over the state and share in their talents for a couple of days. The Community was never judgemental and it was a great chance to get to know people from many different walks of life. Plus, it was an amazing job when the children were younger because they could come to work with me.
I had never had the chance to meet people with the same passion and excitement in the corporate world. It seemed to me like I could only share a part of what I was in fear of people judging me, or not accepting all of who I am. When you tell people in the business circles that I worked in, they would remind me not to give up my day job. There is no money in the arts. You can't get by just writing little stories. So I didn't. I stopped. I didn't acknowledge the little sparks of ideas for a long time. When I was in my last job it was better. I worked under my own steam so much more. I would find moments to enjoy creating gifts and found ways to add a little spark to my routine. With the confidence I gained in that job I knew what I had to do.
I chose to leave that job and returned to my life as a creative myself. I refuse to listen to anyone that tells me that this won't work and it was like being welcomed home. Everyone that I have met in the creative world is so different and they are all so passionate about what brings them joy. I have made friends and not just acquaintances. I knew that working on my writing was the best way to express my passions too. It took me a long time to let the parts of me out from the corner of my mind that I had squished it in.
I know that there are others that are still in the same boat that I was in for all those years. I want to let people know that, you can make it work in the arts. You can find your own creative pathway to share your unique creative talents. Only you can share your perspective of the world. There are others like you that will resonate with your story. That is why I started Bushland Pages. Bushland Pages is a free community that anyone can join. It is a safe place where you can meet other creatives and try some of the activities yourself.
