What Motivated Mindful March taught me

At the end of February I thought that is would be a fabulous idea to undertake a mindfulness challenge for March. I didn't want to over complicate it. The activities had to be completed within 5 minutes a day. I wanted to highlight the multiple techniques that would calm the mind and help reframe your mindset when in stressful situations. After alll, the best way to learn a different technique is when you are calm. Practicing something new may help add that skill to your mental toolbox.
I said at the start of the month that I am a Life coach and have been exposed to different levels of mindfulness my whole life. But I am not a counsellor, so if any of the activities were too challenging I recommended people seek professional help. I had a few direct messages thanking people for the motivation and encouragement throughout the month and I truly hope that people found some joy in trying these different activities.

I think that the best takeaway was the personal achievement of accomplishing the daily post for every single day in March. There was one day that I accidentally posted into the wrong group, which I fixed as soon as I realised, but other than that it was smooth sailing. I have realised that I need to have a back up in place in case there are some situations that I cannot reach my computer, which almost happened multiple times throughout the month.
The Bushland Pages Community were very supportive and I am thankful that they participated and contacted when they had questions which was so nice to hear. I learned from them that they are committed to supporting even if they aren't interacting on the page. I knew that might be the case from the start. Mindfulness is a very personal journey.
I learnt a variety of new techniques that I hadn't heard of before. That was quite interesting. I always researched the activities while I was creating them as I thought people may like more information. It was very minimal on the page because of the 5 minute time limit on the activities. But I have the back up details on hand if I want to do this again.
The last activity was looking in the mirror and complimenting yourself. Using the techniques you have learnt throughout the month to let go of the negative thoughts that pass by and focus on the positives for five minutes. I am not sure I could have done that at the start of the month but I was more than happy to give t a go at the end.
