The first book that Murray wrote was a long time in the making. It started with letters and progressed into an adventure he could never forget. Exploring the places that the stories were written and learning more about the person that wrote them. Murray was really passionate and invested in the story and you could hear it in his voice during the chat.

Bushland Castle Productions has just opened the gates for 2 writing Scroll competitions. A Speculative fiction challenge that focusses on the Catalyst of change and a Memoir challenge that focusses on the heritage that built your foundation. The team are excited to work through the submissions and the Council of Quills have been assembled.

It is a small world at times. You meet people who know people from other aspects of their/your life. This was the case with Gaye. Turns out she is well acquainted with my Mum and I was known as Selva's Daughter. It has been a while since I have been called as that. The spiritual element that Gaye shares within her stories aligns with the peaceful existence I grew up with and what she talks about in her stories.

I was interviewing someone for the podcast recently and I asked who their ideal writing avatar was. This is something that I was introduced to when I first started the podcast in 2018 and it has popped up in writing circle, marketing plans and business development. Who is your ideal client/student/reader/listener. What do they look like, what are they passionate about, when to they find time to listen to podcasts/read books/hang around on social media?

So, we all know that writing a novel, novella or even a saga can be a soloist performance. But sometimes it doesn't have to be. Are there times when you wish you had someone to throw ideas around with? To brainstorm with or just have a chat with?

I am content to admit that I am a bit of a chocaholic. I can't really eat as much as I would have when I was younger... the minute on the lips saying seems to be literal after 40. So when I saw a book with Chocolate in large print it was like a homing beacon. Then seeing the title, I'd rather eat chocolate I was instantly curious. Today I am writing the blog from the Crown towers in Perth. I have a beautiful view of the water and the city. The main room has a relaxing chaise lounge, the most luxurious bed with overlarge puffy pillows, a table and some chairs. There is a skill that you have to have when creating children's book, a sense or joy and whimsey. Something that not everyone can manage, but it is something that Rachel has in spades. These Sausage Dog adventure books are beautifully created and share the basic stories that are fun to read.

The first fiction reading journal I used wasn't really anything special. I had heard of the idea from someone online and thought that would be a great way to keep track of the books I had read and remind me about the stories, months or years down the track. This was not Natasha's first fair, she had an experienced air about her. Enjoying the comradery and making the most of the experience. Natasha knows what she wants and encourages others to follow their heart but make sure you do your research.

I thought that it would be fun to start and daily post within the Bushland Pages community. Something that will help people try mindfulness for at least 5 minutes a day. These activities are short and things that you most likely already do every day. I am just writing it down and suggesting people give it a go. People have been sharing their reflections with me and it has been great to hear some of the creative interpretations of these different activities.

One of the tips that Torah mentioned in the interview was to not get overwhelmed and take it one step at a time with the publication of a book. There is much more to this creative than meets the eye and I am confident we will see more from her in the future.

When you start a project sometimes it seems like there are so many moving parts that you have to start putting in the right order. I know for the Otherworldly Emergence series there have been many aspects that I had to pull into order to make it make sense. Every creative project deserves a moment of your time to put together a general plan.

It was a long journey for Danielle to finish her first book and it is well worth the wait. Danielle took all the time that she needed to make sure her Debut was just the way it needed to be. Now, with the ball rolling there are plenty more books to come.

For some people the creativity flows continuously and it is hard to capture all the drops in time before distractions steals it away. For others, there seems to be a blockage in their pipes! The blank page elicits fear and confusion. The self doubt spiral begins to spin like the water down a drain.
