Season 3 first Guest - Cecilia De Gzell

I was so excited to do this interview with Cecilia. I am a fan of the Pitt, Greys Anatomy, Chicago Med and a bunch of other medical dramas. Not as much of a fans as Cecilia who literally wrote the book on it. Working as a Dr IRL has come through was inspiration for her. I have just received a copy of her first 2 books and I am confident there will be so much more from this talented new author.

I pre-record all of the Season three episodes late last year which is a little different from the normal way that I run the show, but it has been quite the relief to have the interviews ready to go. There was a moment where I had to step away from the mike and reset for a bit while completing the interview because we were talking about some hard stuff. Things that made me consider different experiences I have had in my world. I think when I am completing an interview that it need to be all about the guest and I don't want to put in too much about my thoughts and opinions. So having an emotional reaction to the conversation needed to get snipped in the edits. The joys of the process.

I think that it is crazy that there is still a challenge to the perception of self publishing in Australia. But more people that continue to put out quality books, the better it is. I am also a member of Romance writers Australia and when you go to the conferences, the energy and opportunities to learn is abundant. I went to the conference in 2018 and it has left a lasting impression on me.

When we were talking about the journey into medicine for Cecilia I was amazed. The dedication and commitment to the career pathway is amazing. You have to always have an open mind for the lifestyle. I always knew that it was difficult, but it is nice to have the journey mapped out.

Cecilia's journey toward mindful creativity was a natural progression for her mental health. There are many creatives that I have spoken to about burn out and how it is the start of something new. A wake up call, so to speak. That is where this series started for her. Releasing all that creative energy was helpful to her. I think that is a beautiful to think of. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope that this continue to work for her and she has a chance to build more books and release them out to the world.
