Cecelia de Gzell

More about the guest

Cecelia Gzell is a debut Author of the novel 'The Swell' which was released in June. As a radiation Oncologist who specialises in the treatment of patients with brain tumours. She had 14 peer reviewed medical publications and a PHD in glioblastoma research and is a regular presenter at international and national conferences. A period of burnout in 2019 reignited an old passion for writing and 'The Swell' is her debut novel. She lives in Sydney with her husband and 3 children and a goofy sheepadoodle, Fudge, who keeps escaping. Both her work and family exhaust her but provide endless fodder for the imagination. Dr de Gzell is aiming to release the second book in the series, 'Caught in the undertow' in 2026.

What is the Prize?

Cecilia has donated a tote-ally awesome Tote bag that has a picture of The Swell on it a book mark and a magnet.

Bushland Castle Productions has complimented the prize adding a signed copy of the book.

As each Episode Releases we will add the details of what is in the chest. This chest will be filled with donations and sponsored gifts from guests who are interviewed between episodes 2 and 33.

Open worldwide to all listeners aged 16 years or older.
You must be able to access our entry form and provide a working email address to qualify.
One entry per person, please—no duplicate accounts or pirate-y tricks.

Closes: 15th of July, 2026 at 10:00 AM (Western Australian Standard Time)
Entries received after the closing time will walk the plank (a.k.a. be disqualified).

To unlock the Treasure Chest, you must:
a. Listen to the podcast – the secret word is hidden in every interview episode!
b. Visit our landing page and submit the entry form with:
- The secret word
- Your name + contact details
- Optional: let us know if you’d like to be mentioned on the show if you win

That gets you your first 5 points!

You can boost your odds by spreading the word:
- +3 points for following the podcast account on each platform (screenshot required)
- +5 points for leaving a podcast review (screenshot required)
The more you engage, the better your chance of snagging a prize—but no more than 30 points total per person.

There are up to 30 prizes, donated by Finding Elara guests and topped off with Bushland Castle Productions Merch.
Prizes will be revealed with each guest episode. There is no need for sneak peeks.
Winners will be contacted in the order they are drawn and advised of the featured prize list. Then they get to choose one. The last people on the list will have less options to choose from.

Winners will be drawn based on the point system + random selection. This draw is live streamed on the group Facebook page so everyone knows that there are no shennanigans.
We’ll contact you using the info from your entry form.
Winners have 48 hours to respond. If we don’t hear back, we’ll draw a new name—because the show (and the loot) must go on!
