Moving Offices

I work from home. We had a small office that was set up for minor accounting things and has a lot of sundry supplies that we don't really have the room for. But, as one of the benefits of becoming an empty nester is that I was able to shuffle around some rooms. It was hubbies idea to start with, but after he mentioned it I couldn't really get it out of my mind. We relocated the left over furniture and supplies from the girls and then we combined them into one room. This made a large bedroom as a blank canvas; free for us to personalise in a way that will best benefit our new lifestyle.

At first I wanted to repaint the walls to make them look like castle bricks, because as you know, I am quite enamoured with anything that has a castle theme. But then something even better came to mind. Bookshelves the whole way around! We could potentially even have a murphy hinge and make the door a secret entrance.

I explained the idea with hubby and we delighted in the concept. We debated what his side will look like and what my side will look like. I wanted the book shelves the whole way around and he wanted to be able to hang things from the walls. Once we cam to a solution we started looking at the different types of shelves and desks that are available and will be able to make the room feel unified. I was so excited.

So Today, we went to pick up a click and collect from Ikea in Perth. A huge day of driving and more manual labour than I am used to of late and we still have a five our drive to get home.

I am going to send some pictures as the office process is completed. Before and after, but today I can show you what 5 trolleys worth of Ikea boxes looks like. We are going to get some home carpentry on!

I will be back with more fun adventures soon. Wish me luck.
