Treasure Chest Hoard

Part of Bushland Castle Productions is the Finding Elara Podcast. A show that is now 57 Episodes young and still growing into itself. The established theme of Worldbuilding and Mindfulness has allowed for some inspiring conversations that have unveiled the truth in surprising ways. DL always tries to put her guests in at ease during the conversations and that allows the guest to feel safe.

It is not mandatory that the feature guest provides something toward the treasure chest, they are asked if they are interested in participating and it they do, it will be mentioned for the rest of the episodes until the chest is drawn. So for the best impact, it would be the first guest who will get mentioned 9 times. So in this chest that the lucky number 1 was Jessie Cunniffe who was an amazing guest. It started with Jessie Cunniffe who has provided access for 1 person to complete her book blurb magic course. This is an author centered step-by-step course that will teach you to write professional book blurbs, painlessly.

Then there are 2 jewels from Angela R Hughes, which are 2 copies of Elanor and the song of the Bard. Book 1 of the Once and future Chronicles where 23 year old Elanor a Graphic designer is catapulted into the year 500AD. It is an Arthurian tale with a twist. Complimenting that is two copies of The golden dragon awakens.

Then we have an amazing experience from Selina Shapland, A Tarot reading for the purpose of character development. She has donated one of these sessions to help your story move forward through the roughest character blocks.

Then a winners choice from Sue-Ellen Pashley who has kindly donation of 1 book from her growing catalogue of books. She gave a run down of each on in her mindfulness episode.

Why do we choose to give stuff away for free

It is all about the numbers. We want to give back to our listeners and wo grow our listenership we need to make sure that we have enough people listening. Give-aways have been a great way to do that.

1. Worldwide statistics for podcasting: There are heaps of statistics available for the amount of podcasts and their downloads. According to Daniel J Lewis as of January 2025 there are 463,420 podcasts that are currently active on apple podcasts.

   
   

2. Average Download goals: There is so much mixed information about what the average downloads but to be within the 50% of all podcasts then you need an average of 27 for the first 7 days.

   
   

3. Our stats: Since the Podcast started on the 6th of October 2018 we have had 2644 downloads of Finding Elara. That would make an average of 45 listens per episode.

   
   

The goal we have for the show is to reach the 27 episode download in the first 7 days. Then when we reach that target we will be looking for more ways to advertise the show and encourage more listeners! Would it be worth doing more giveaways? Should we do paid ads? Should I be using more key words? Should there be a #findingelara in all of my posts?

Exciting new Guests

Now that we have re-established the podcast as active for the season 2. I have people actually approaching me to come onto the show. People that are interested in coming in as a guest and sharing their information with the world. I have a dream list of people that I would love to be on the show and I will continue to try and get their attention, so if you ever see people that have high esteem like Kate Blanchett, Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Anson Mount then know that I will talk even less than I already do. People like Kevin Hearn, Kel Kade, Julliette Marrillier, Rachel Aaron, Brandon Sanderson, Matthew Riley would Blow my mind. Then there are other creatives that I can't even think of at the moment that would be an absolute delight to talk to.

Imagine that. In all seriousness we do have a fantastic line op for future episodes and as they are coming out we will be able to celebrate the unique worldbuilding strategies and mindfulness tactics.
