All The Hats

It doesn't matter what job you have, there are times when it can feel like you need to wear a number of different hats to get through the day. There is (in no particular order) the creative hat, marketing hat, family hat, identity hat ... and so many more! I don't know if there is or should be a way of integrating these personalities. You would have to ask a professional about that. But, I feel that if you work on your core values, you can strengthen your drive for these shifts and present your best self in any situation.
During march we ran a number of mindset activities in Bushland Pages and I was really impressed with some of the connections people made. Some of them fell flat for them also. Everyone has their unique style and unless you trial different approaches how are you going to know for certain if you are maximising your opportunities.
Reflecting on your Core values
This is something that you need to site with for a while. Think about the things that make you happy/sad? What motivates and encourages you to do things? What deters you from finishing things? What do you prioritise in your life?
When you have sat with those questions for a while you should be able to identify your core values. What truly makes you, you.
Categorising your hats
If you want to approach this logically then you are going to have to break it down. I would suggest
Major: The primary roles you live in your life.
Minor: Not as important, but still come up regularly
Transient: You only have to do this on odd occasions - so for me that could be gardener.
and old: In the old hats category you can think, is that a hat you still need to wear, or have you outgrown it?
Prioritise your actions
This one is a little hard to implement and there may be some stumbles along the way. The core values that you have identified should shine through no matter what hat you are wearing. This is good thing to workshop with someone. Maybe there is something that you would/wouldn't do in certain situations? Why? Are there things you would say if you are around certain people but not around others?
Once you have identified these things you can start working through them one thing at a time.
I wish you all the best. No matter which hat you are wearing as you read this.
