April Mae
April Mae is not a fan of being pigeon-holed, believing everyone is so much more than a series of titles or the sum of their achievements. That being said, her list includes being a creative, a mother, a writer, lover of numbers, occasional optimist, perpetual devil's advocate and collector of random cute objects to satisfy her childlike side whilst quoting random movie lines.
Usually curled up on the couch or her favourite chair, old school pen and paper in hand, April is determined to create space and time to be seen in her own right. She finds writing a rather cathartic process and often explores darker and more confronting subjects about the human condition, what makes us tick and the why behind it all.
Her self-published debut, a domestic noir/psychological thriller entitled Finding Solace was originally released under a pseudonym (because putting your own name to your work can be scary - she has since been brave enough to release under her own name). Now she is ready to announce herself to the world and share her unique voice and perspective with whomever might be inclined to read it. Whomever is ready to challenge the status quo. And hopefully leave a lasting imprint upon their soul.
Enchanting Escapes has allowed her to dip her toes into the realm of magical realism whilst still yanking ferociously at your heartstrings. And with another psychological thriller in the works, this journey of hers has only just begun. She invites you along for the ride, if you dare.
