Speculative Fiction Series 1 -
Otherworldly Emergence

Scheduled Release August 2026

12 Authors collaborated in an exploration of otherworldly elements that could no longer remain in the shadows (by accident or necessity). The inaugural series reflects on the emotional, societal and fantastical consequences of this revelation. Each Novella tells a unique story set during this critical period of emergence offering readers different perspectives and setting while connecting to a shared theme.

Otherworldly Origins

Submissions open on July 6, 2026

This second series will welcome 16 authors that can capture the dawning of an otherworldly element into our reality. The expansive scope within speculative fiction will allow for a number of unique storytelling perspectives that will enter the inner sanctum of otherworldly origins. You will peek inside the room where it happened. The birth or creation that changed what we consider to be normal in this realm.

Memoir & Creative Non-Fiction Series
Australia: Living in the 70s

Long term project

Currently open to to submission from people between that ages of 60-85 years old that lived in Australia in the 70s. This will paint a realistic picture of the decade that defined a generation. These are stories of memory, culture, and identity told through the voices of everyday Australians.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to SwanCon. This is a Convention that focusses on Sci-fi Fantasy and Horror based in Perth. I hadn't heard of it until last year and as soon as I did I knew it was an event that I would like to attend. I even committed myself to hosting some panels about publishing and podcasting a few months ago. A few of my friends have attended in the past and advised that it was a worthwhile event but they hadn't been in a few years.

My Overview of Swancon 50

I was having a bit bit of fun with canva. Thinking about Origin stories in speculative fiction and you can't go past Aliens. Submissions are not open until next month, but now's the time to start thinking what your story would be.

Yesterday, I was so lucky to share my first panel at swancon with these lovely ladies, Alyssa Curtain and Teena Raffar-mulligan. We talked about Podcasting - Stories beyond the page.

Podcasting has become a powerful way for creators to share stories, ideas, and worlds beyond the written page. This panel explores how podcasts can support creative work, build community, and extend storytelling in meaningful ways. Panelists will discuss getting started, common early mistakes, and how podcasting can compliment, rather than compete with, other creative projects.

The three of us have differing approaches toward the craft of podcasting and the discussion was open and honest. We took questions from the audience and It was great to talk about what goes into bringing shows out to the world.

We didn't end up recording it (maybe next time) but it is an experience I will cherish. The team at @swancon_wa have been so supportive and encouraging, I can't wait to enjoy more of the event today and tomorrow.

Dogs are so glad to be home and have their own little space.

A good friend of mine recommended I talk to Chintan about the Otherworldly Emergence series because if his experience in film. I was interested in his out of the box thinking and creative representation of the project. I would love to say more but that would give too much away! His partner Priya started collaborating with Chintan a little later in the series, also excited about the project and how her love of poetry could help refine the prose. The are a united team.

Are coasters still used or are they outdated?

Felix was a little different to the other submissions. He was actively sought out after being recommended by a close friend of Bushland Castle Productions. We advised him of the opportunity and he submitted just in time. His story has grown a life of its own during the process of writing and I look forward to sharing it with the world.

My daughter and her boyfie cooked us breakfast before we left. (She even cooked my eggs separately 🥰).

I engaged with Selina originally through her passion for helping authors when wearing her coaching hat. It didn't take long to learn more about her fascination for horror! I encouraged her to submit for the series and I am so glad that she has shared her story with us.

I did sone intense 4wd.. the kind where you don't want to stop, but it was worth it for the view.

I was fortunate enough to meet Sidney through another writing group and I hoped that we would be able to build on that friendship. When she applied for the Otherworldly Emergence series I was blown away by the well considered and immersive world she has created.

Hubby and I went on a sunrise walk this morning and it was so relaxing! No rush. Just the casual enjoyment of what the beach has to offer.

Ryan was the second person approved for the Otherworldly Emergence Series and has been committed to elevating his prose the whole time. His Story Monsters and the Disturbed is an action packed paranormal.

Roadtrip snaps. We made it safely to Karratha to see one of our Daughters. 18+ hours of driving. Worth it.

Feeling the love today. My youngest and my Mother came to town to celebrate this beautiful day. My older two were commited outside of our small home town but still took the time to call. We had an beautiful brunch at the local cafe and it was amazing. Endless tea and a delectible selection of treats.

When Olivia submitted her application for the Otherworldly Emergence series she was straight to the point and admittedly doubtful that her application would be successful. She just wanted to give it one last go before she quit her writing dream. But, the team at Bushland Castle Productions love the fresh take on her story and looked forward to seeing more. Olivia is now a worthy squire having pushed through to complete her tale.

I am a lucky Mumma! My son made me eggs on a cloud as an early Mothers Day surprise. He nailed it this year and the presentation was above and beyond.

@heather.salterpurves_author was welcomed into Bushland Castle Productions as a Page last year and when she signed on as an Author she was Elevated to Squire. It has been a delight to see Heather work on her addition to the Otherworldly Emergence Series: Shadows beyond the Gates and I look forward to sharing it with the world Later this year.
